On behalf of the governors of Small Heath School, I would like to welcome you to the governors’ web page.
This is an opportunity for us to give you a snapshot of who we are and how together as the governing body and the community, we can build upon the excellent reputation of our school.
The governors come from a variety of different community, business and professional backgrounds. However, the common thread for all is our love and passion for the development of our school family.
Throughout the school we have helped develop an excellent learning environment for all our children. Our children have an opportunity to engage in extra curricular activities, which helps to broaden their minds. Also throughout their school life the children gain valuable life skills, which help prepare them for life outside of school.
As governors we are involved in many aspects of school life. We attend regular meetings and celebrate the success of children at prize giving. We also have links with Ofsted Inspectors who visit our school and give glowing reports about our staff and pupils.
Community cohesion is important to us and we are delighted with our international links in South Africa, Pakistan (Barakot School), Brazil day and now developing links in Europe with Sweden, France and Germany.
One drawback for us is that the school is not large enough to cater for all of our children. Perhaps our new sixth form block may help in this respect.
Please feel free to write to me with any queries and suggestions you may have. Together we will endeavour to build a better and bigger Small Heath School and Sixth Form Centre.
